Alamo Lithuania Rental Terms for travel between 01-Jan-2010 and 31-Dec-2012

Payment
An initial, non-refundable deposit will be secured at the time of booking confirmation. Accepted credit cards are Visa and MasterCard (transaction fee of 1.75% applies).

The balance will be secured directly by the supplier on arrival.

Additional Driver Policy
Additional driver charge is EUR 6.00+ tax per day, with a maximum charge of EUR 60.00 + tax. There is no maximum number of additional drivers allowed per rental.

Age Requirements
The minimum age is as follows: 18 years for car groups ECMN (Economy), EDMR (Economy), CDMR (Compact), CDAR (Compact) and CWMR (Compact Wagon-Estate). 21 years for car groups IDMR (Intermediate), IDAR (Intermediate), IWMR (Intermediate Wagon-Estate), SDMR (Standard), SDAR (Standard) and SWMR (Standard Wagon-Estate). 25 years for car groups: IVMR (Intermediate Pax Van), FDAR (Full Size), FDMR (Full Size), LVMR (Luxury Pax Van) and LFAR (Luxary 4x4). There is no maximum age limit. A young driver charge applies for 18 - 27 year olds of EUR 2.90 + tax per day ,with a maximum charge of EUR 14.48 + tax.

Cross Border Policy
Cross border travel is permitted into all EU mainland countries and Belarus (When travelling to Belarus, Europcar must issue a special document / permission). All other countries are forbidden including EU Islands, Russiaand Kaliningrad. A cross border fee of EUR 6.00 + tax per day, with a maximum charge of EUR 60.00 + tax per rental applies to all cross border travel. The customer must inform Alamo/National at time of check-out if he/she is going to cross the Lithuanian border, otherwise a penalty charge of EUR 250.00 will be applied and all insurances will not be valid. In these cases the customer will be responsible for the full cost of any damages incurred.Please be advised that the following areas in Germany: Berlin, Cologne and Hannover will require an 'Emissions Sticker' stating the emission of the vehicle intended to enter these areas. Without this sticker, the driver of the vehicle will be fined up to EUR 40.00 even if the car is registered abroad. Should the car not have the 'Emissions Sticker', then this can be purchased at most garages. Please be advised that due to a change in law in Germany, it is mandatory for all vehicles crossing the border into Germany to have winter tyres fitted during the Snow & Icy conditions. Customers will be fined on the spot if they are stopped by police and found to not have the appropriate winter tyres.

Delivery / Collection
Delivery & collection is available to any place in Lithuania (all cities) - (present exact address & telephone number and ask for the Delivery/collection charge at time of booking). During office hours: Within city limits (there Europcar offices are located) - on freesale and costs EUR 17.38 + tax. Delivery to hotels in Vilnius 'Amberton Klaipeda' and 'Artis' is free of charge. Collection is available in Estonia (Tallinn, Tartu, Parnu), Latvia (Riga, Liepaja, Ventspilis) and Poland (Warsaw, Gdansk, Krakov) (present exact address & tel.no. and ask for Del/Col charge at time of booking). Collection is also available from other EU countries (please refer to Alamo/National Reservation Department in Lithuania). Delivery & collections outside the city limits and out of hours are on request and the cost depends on the distance to be travelled. Please contact us and an answer will be provided as soon as possible.

Insurance Excess
Collision Damage Waiver & Theft Waiver limits the customers' financial responsibility for loss, damage or theft of the rental vehicle. The maximum excess that is payable in the event of one of these incidents is 1158.48 EUR. The maximum excess will vary depending on the vehicle you are renting, please ask at time of rental for further information on which excess applies. If you would like to reduce or remove your excess responsibility please ask the rental staff when collecting your vehicle about additional products that are on offer .

License Requirements
Valid Driving Licence must be held for at least: One year for car groups IDMR (Intermedate), IDAR (intermediate), IWMR (Intermediate Wagon-Estate), SDMR (Standard), SDAR (Standard) and SWMR (Stardard Wagon-Estate)- drivers with the 1-2 years driving experience are to be charged additionally with the YOUNG DRIVER fee. Two years for car groups IVMR (Intermedate),FDAR (Full Size), FDMR (Full Size), LVMR (Luxury Pax Van) and LFAR (Luxury 4x4) - drivers with the 2-3 years driving experience are to be charged additionally with the YOUNG DRIVER fee. There is no minimum licence requirements for car groups ECMN (Economy), EDMR (Economy), CDMR (compact), CDAR (Compact) and CWMR (Compact Wagon-Estate). An international driving permit is required for all foreign customers.

One Way Rentals
Domestic one ways are allowed between all locations and cost as follows: Kaunas Apt to Klaipeda DT = EUR 28.81 + tax (and vice versa). Kaunas Apt to Palanga Apt = EUR 33.05 + tax (and vice versa). Kaunas Apt to Vilnius Apt & DT = EUR 24.58 + tax (and vice versa). Klaipeda DT to Palanga Apt = EUR 16.10 + tax (and vice versa). Klaipeda DT to Vilnius Apt & DT = EUR 41.53 + tax (and vice versa). Palanga Apt to Vilnius Apt & DT = EUR 50.00 + tax (and vice versa). Vilnius Apt to Vilnius DT = Free. There is a penalty charge of EUR 500.00 in case the vehicle is returned in an unauthorised location (domestic one ways) paid locally if applicable. International one ways are allowed between specified countries and cities as follows: Lithuania (Vilnius, Kaunas, Palanga & Klaipeda) to Latvia (Riga) = EUR 124,54 + tax. Lithuania (Vilnius, Kaunas, Palanga & Klaipeda) to Latvia (Ventspilis) = EUR 159.29 + tax. Lithuania (Vilnius, Kaunas, Palanga & Klaipeda) to Latvia (Liepaja) = EUR 144.81 + tax. Lithuania (Vilnius, Kaunas, Palanga & Klaipeda) to Estonia (Tallinn) = EUR 188.25 + tax. Lithuania (Vilnius, Kaunas, Palanga & Klaipeda) to Estonia (Tartu) = EUR 173.77 + tax. Lithuania (Vilnius, Kaunas, Palanga & Klaipeda) to Estonia (Parnu) = EUR 159.29 + tax. Lithuania (Vilnius, Kaunas, Palanga & Klaipeda) to Poland (Warsaw) = EUR 333.06 + tax. Lithuania (Vilnius, Kaunas, Palanga & Klaipeda) to Poland (Krakov) = EUR 506.84 + tax. Lithuania (Vilnius, Kaunas, Palanga & Klaipeda) to Poland (Gdansk) = EUR 376.51 + tax. No other international one ways are allowed. There is a penalty charge of EUR 2000.00 in case the vehicle is returned in an unauthorised location (international one ways).

Out of Hours Policy
Out of hours pick-ups are allowed for all locations on freesale for an additional cost of EUR 17.38 + tax. Out of hours drop-offs are allowed for all locations, but for Klaipeda City and Vilnius City, there is an additional cost of EUR 17.38 + tax (this charge is not loaded in the system and will be charged locally). There is no extra charge for drop off out of hours at the Airport locations.

Payment Policy
All major Credit Cards - Visa, MasterCard, Diners & Amex. Also accepted are National Charge Cards and National Vouchers. A deposit of the CDW amount plus the full amount for the rental and additional services (plus half of the Navigation system deposit, in case of Navigation system rent) will be required, which will be held on the credit card until the car is returned. It is possible, on request, to pay cash at the end of the rental. But before the rental a credit card is always required (except if paying with full credit voucher). Additional info: If car is not returned on time, the customer must call the Head Office or the 24 hour Help Line. If the customer does not call within 3 hours after the due time, the car will be registered as stolen to the Road Police.

Refuelling Policy
All cars are supplied with a full tank at time of pick-up. At the end of the rental the customer has to return the car with a full tank, otherwise refuelling charges of EUR 2.00 per litre + tax for missing fuel will apply.

Roadside Assistance

Special Equipment
Infant Seat CSI (0-12 months/0-13kg) = EUR 10.00 + tax per day - Maximum charge of 10 days (EUR 100.01 + tax). Replacement amount (deposit) is EUR 71.81 + tax. On Freesale / 24 hours notice required. Baby Seat CSB (1-3 years/9-18kg) = EUR 10.00 + tax per day - Maximum charge 10 days (EUR 100.01 + tax). Replacement amount (deposit) is EUR 71.81 + tax. On Freesale / 24 hours notice required. The baby seat is not loaded in the system, so if required, please add to the remarks on the reservation. GPS = EUR 10.00 + tax per day, with a maximum charge of EUR 150.00. Replacement amount (deposit) is EUR 191.48 + tax - On Freesale. Toddler Seat CST - not available. Booster Seat BST - Not available. Winter Equipped Vehicle - (see Winter fee in Surcharges) MANDATORY for all vehicles from 1st November to 31st March (includes snow tyres). A Hazard Warning Triangle, First Aid Kit, Fire Extinguisher and Safety Reflective Vest are mandatory in Lithuania and are already supplied in the vehicles. There is a replacement fee of EUR 10.00 per item incase of damage or loss (except for the Reflective Vest which is EUR 5.00). The age of the child/ren must be provided at time of reservation when hiring child seats. All equipment is available for all cars and at all locations.

Surcharges
Airport surcharge: EUR 23.17 + tax per rental. Winter fee (WIEV): EUR 2.90 per day + tax, maximum charge of EUR 20.27 + tax per rental - MANDATORY for all rentals from 1st November until 31st March (see Winter Equipped Vehicle in Special Equipment). Vehicle Licence Fee: EUR 8.98 + tax per rental.

The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier's rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
